Vegetable beef soup
3lb. chuck roast, cut into chunks
1 large white onion, cut in half and peeled
1lb. new potatoes, cut in half
8 oz. fresh green beans, snapped
1 ear corn, kernels sliced off
4 carrots, unpeeled and sliced into 2in. segments
46 oz. spicy & hot V8 juice
2 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp olive oil, plus extra
Salt
Pepper
Ground red pepper
Heat a large dutch oven or a large pot over medium-high heat. Add in the butter and olive oil. Let heat until the butter is melted.
Pat the chuck roast chunks dry with a paper towel and salt and pepper both sides. Sear all sides of the meat, working in batches if necessary. Remove the meat.
Drain the liquid and add more olive oil to cover the bottom of the pot. Add in the onion and carrot, cook until they have some color. Remove the onion and carrot, add in the potatoes. Cook until they take on some color.
Add in the removed meat, onion, and carrot. Add in the green beans and corn. Pour in the V8 juice, and make sure it covers the ingredients in the pot. Add 1 tsp. salt, pepper and ground red pepper to taste.
Let cook over medium heat at a simmer for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender.

I can’t tell you how tempted I was to say “I hate having homework” or “I can’t, I have homework” or “I can’t wait until this degree is over with,” but I would try to avoid the negativity given my limitations. And of course, I had to include the email loophole… But overall, these are the things that I would wish to express each day if given only 10 sentences to speak.
